Lungs are the most vulnerable to disease

Today, we will discuss the lungs and the large intestine. The human lungs look like this, which is anatomically visible.

In the eyes of Chinese medicine, the internal organs are more about recognizing their function. Because the object of study in TCM is the living person, the lung in a living person is functional, and the cure is to restore its function. Knowing the fleshy structure of the lungs is not enough to cure diseases. This is the greatness of Chinese medical thinking.

Let's first understand the characteristics of the lung: the lung is a delicate organ means that the lung is very delicate; it is afraid of cold and heat, dryness, phlegm and dampness. When external evil enters the body, the lung bears the brunt of it, and the lung is so delicate that it is prone to disease.

1. The function of the lungs
A. The lung is the master of qi and the division of respiration.
The lungs are the master of qi, which means that the lungs control all the qi of the whole body. The lungs manage the breathing rhythm between one exhalation and one inhalation, one in and one out. If the lungs usually function, the rhythm and pattern of breathing will be expected; if the lungs do not function properly, there will be problems with breathing. For example, coughing and wheezing indicate that the lung function is out of order.

B. The primary propagation of surrender.
The lung qi is always moving; how does it move? It is the principal propagator and purifier. The lung qi has to be sent outward and purged downward. Some of you may wonder how the lung has to be propagated and, at the same time, purged.

The lungs are cathartic because the lungs are in the highest position in the abdominal cavity of the human body, called Huagai; the body's turbid gas, phlegm and dampness through the lung qi cathartic to discharge. The lungs are also responsible for the skin and hair, and when the pores are opened, the qi is dispersed outward; and what is dispersed? Dispersed is also the evil qi.
For example, if you have a high fever and cough after catching a cold, Chinese medicine uses the idea of relieving the symptoms and dispersing the cold, using the method of sweating to open the pores and produce sweat, the cold will go out from the body surface, and the cold will be cured. This is called promoting the lung.

Why does the lung qi have to go down when the lungs are purged? After the air is filtered through the lungs, the oxygen has to be transmitted down to the kidneys and large intestine; therefore, the lung qi has to go downward. Regarding the five energy elements, the lungs are of gold, and the energy qi of gold is introverted and collected and has to go downward.

The lung qi must be declarative and purgative, though descending is still the main focus.

 C. The lungs can regulate water channels.
Tong, unblock, regulate, regulate. The lungs can unblock and regulate the waterways; what is the relationship between the lungs and water? The lung is the master of qi, the leading qi propagation and suction, qi inside the water vapour ah; in the lung qi operation, the water vapour also comes out through the regulation of water channels.

D. Towards the hundred veins and the main treatment section.
The term "Chao Hundred Chakras" means that the qi of the whole body accumulates in the lungs and is then distributed to the whole body by the lungs, which is the Chao Hundred Chakras. The lungs are the officials of the San Jiao, or the prime minister of the court, who assists the king. The heart is the master of blood, and the lungs are the master of qi. Blood has the pulse of blood, and qi has the rhythm of qi.

2. The lungs hide the spirit, pass up the throat and outside the skin, open the nose, in the will for worry, in the liquid for snot.

The lungs hide the soul.
What do you mean by "prana"? A "white" plus a "ghost"(魄) sees ghosts during the day Prana. Of course, this "ghost" is not the "ghost" we are discussing now, but the elusive energy information in the internal organs. The heart is the king; the left is the liver general, and the right is the lung prime minister. The general and prime minister are both hiding "ghosts": the liver hides the "soul", and the lung hides the "Prana. "Both are "ghosts".

Ordinary people have three souls and seven spirits; which seven spirits? Why do they happen to be seven Prana? The energy of all seven Prana is gathered in this middle line of the human body, also called the middle chakra, the seven energy centres echoing the Indian Ayurveda, corresponding to the seven chakras.

There are 7 pranas: one Prana for heavenly impulse, two Prana for spiritual wisdom, three Prana for qi, four Prana for strength, five Prana for the centre, six Prana for essence, and seven Prana for Ying. They correspond to the 7 chakras: the top chakra, the brow chakra, the throat chakra, the heart chakra, the navel chakra, the bottom chakra and the Brahma chakra.

The Prana of the lungs is in charge of these 7 energy centres. These 7 energy centres are what all practitioners have been doing all their lives; whether they are doing static or dynamic work, they are all doing the same thing: opening up these 7 energy centres. All practitioners have to do the same thing: start with breathing practice. Why should we start with breathing practice? Because the lungs are the primary source of qi, the lungs hide the Prana; all work on the "lungs".

The lung is the master of the skin and hair.
The lungs and the skin are connected. What is the use of skin hair? The primary function is to regulate the body temperature. When it's too hot outside, the pores open up and start sweating, taking the heat away and bringing the body temperature down; when it's too cold outside, the pores close to prevent the heat from dissipating and the cold from entering, ensuring that their body temperature is constant.

Why is the skin so bright? It's the lungs that are in charge of it. The lung qi controls the opening and closing of the pores. For example, if spontaneous sweating does not stop, Chinese doctors will start by nourishing the lung qi and use Yu Ping Feng San (玉屏风散)to stop the sweating. Why? Because the lung is the master of the skin and hair.

The lungs are in the will to worry.

Sorrow, sadness, sorrow. People with bad lungs are prone to pessimism and sadness; frequent sadness will also hurt the lungs.

For example, a person with a deficiency of lung qi who happens to experience a sad event will have a cough when the lung qi is significantly injured; this disease, which can be attributed to an emotional disease, cannot be treated by medicine alone, but should also be dissolved by emotions. The cough will soon clear up if the patient is happy.

The lungs are in the fluid as snot.

Snot, tears and snot. People see that when people cry in sorrow, tears and nasal snot are a mess; why? The lungs are in the fluid as snot. The emotion of sadness acts on the lungs and drains the lung fluid out.

Also, after suffering from wind and cold, some people will have tears and snot together, which is also a reaction to fluid drainage from the lungs. Then the question arises: Is it better to drain or suppress it? It is better to drain it out. Sneezing, nose, nose, eyes, etc., is the reaction of draining out the evil after a person has been exposed to it.

3 . The lung and large intestine are cognate; to regulate the lung, often consider whether the large intestine's function is normal; to regulate the large intestine, usually also need to link the lung to regulate together. Let's learn more about the large intestine.

The large intestine is relatively simple, and its primary function is to transmit and transform the dregs. The large intestine is also called the cereal tract, and the most likely problem with the large intestine is constipation and diarrhoea.

In layperson's terms, constipation means the stool is blocked in the large intestine. The expected passage of stool in the large intestine requires 2 conditions to be met.
1. Need the nourishment of fluid, the large intestine, to be lubricated enough that the stool can move.
2. To have the gas to push.

As the boat travels on water, the same 2 conditions are needed. First, the river needs sufficient water; second, there should be a downwind as a thrust.

When you encounter constipation, look for the cause in these 2 areas. Either there is not enough water in the large intestine or Qi in the large intestine to push the stool. The solution idea is simple: nourish Yin or move Qi to replenish Qi.

Besides, diarrhoea, in layperson's terms, is too much water in the large intestine, and the water goes away from Valley Road. There are 2 kinds of diarrhoea; one is a reaction to the discharge of disease; for example, if you eat junk food today, and then wild diarrhoea, that is, the body helping you to expel this junk food, is good.

There is also a pathological reaction, with too little fire in the body, resulting in too much water. The body does not have enough yang energy to transpire water into water vapour, and there is too much water in the large and small intestines, which manifests as diarrhoea. The idea of "replenishing fire can solve this kind of problem".

Speaking of the colon, think of detoxification. Many people are talking about detoxification, so what is the poison? Should we detoxify?

What do you mean by poison? Except for the body's usual energy, all can be called poison. Since it is poison, it is better to get rid of it. From where to drain it? The largest detoxification channel of the human body is the large intestine; the large intestine is equivalent to the human sewage outlet. From the large intestine, this channel is the ideal result.

If the body's drain is blocked, what will be the result? The turbidity in the body can not get out; the large intestine will repeatedly absorb it. These toxins will return to the blood, become the waste inside the blood, and then back to the various organs inside.

Constipation is the source of all diseases; many cancer patients, psychiatric patients, and almost all are constipated patients. First, cure these diseases by unclogging the large intestine as a sewage port.

I often emphasize that a healthy person, not indicators, is average, but the normal state of life to meet these 3 conditions: eat, detoxify, and sleep well. Failure to excrete is an emergency that has to be solved as soon as possible; the sooner, the better.

For the lungs and large intestine, these are the contents shared. Finally, back to that question at the beginning: Why are the lungs designed to be so delicate when most susceptible to evil?

The reasoning is simple. The lungs are the leading skin and the body's first barrier, so the lungs should be designed to be very delicate. A problem with the body is an uncomfortable reaction, such as a cold, fever, cough, etc., so we can pay attention to it first, read the body's signals, make timely corrections, and prevent a big mistake.

The lungs, the alarm of our body, are the gatekeepers that guard the city; the more sensitive, the better. Some people ask: How do you nourish the lungs? The lungs are protected by not letting the skin get cold and wind, and you nourish the lungs by getting rid of every cold.
